Here is what we have to expect from Apple:

An iPod becoming a remote controller and
streaming to several devices connected to
a mesh network based on Wi-Fi

Compared to SONOS the nice thing of the
Apple solution are this:

1 - You connect any Hi-Fi also in digital audio
       so you can have a much better choice

2 - The airport express is not affected by any
       codec evolution it uses the PC/MAC as
       a server for converting the audio to a lossless
       format. In this way can have a simplier hardware

3 - It does also works as an extension to data wi-fi net,
      as a base station and as a USB printer sharing
       device.
