To The Standards Is Bad Gang,
I'm jumping in here without reading the complete thread but . . .
Standards ultimately lead to choice. Standards build markets. Standards
are good for subscribers. Standards allow developers to build stuff that
works with stuff other developers build without having to communicate or
know each other. Standards and open source allows good ideas and good
technology to continue even if the original developer(s) can not
continue - providing options to the people using the technology beyond
swinging in the wind.
