I quite disagree. If we define it based on OS, rather than what features
the user sees, the term loses any useful meaning. (Wait, what am I
saying? Did it ever have any useful meaning? But anyway....) It's quite
possible to make a dumb-as-a-post phone running on Linux, and also
possible to make amazing devices running on "dumb" operating systems
along the lines of PalmOS 3.
