Has there been any debate somewhere about DoCoMo's bandwidth costs for 3G.
In my view, they are very high, and definitely at a level where you really
would scare aaway any user from anything more bandwidth hungry, especially
streaming services.
It would of course be possible for DoCoMo to combine bandwidth pricing with
transactional pricing for some specific services such as videoclips etc.
(no bandwidth charged for these specific services), which is something that
is in discussion currently. This would however mean that DoCoMo would start
to blur their former very clear and wise relationship to content providers
regarding the division of revenues from transactions and traffic.
One thing is clear, though. It will be a mess. And all these calling and
data plans does not make an easy decision. FOMA calling plan
22/39/67/100/150, Packet Pack 0/20/40/80 etc.
