Aplix has developed microJBlend .
MicroJBlend is based on the CLDC specification and is available in two
versions:
-	One that supports the MIDP specification, which has been adopted by
J-Phone for its cellular phones.
-	Another that supports the iAppli specification, which has been
adopted by NTT-DoCoMo.
So, you can use J2ME.
Also, JBlend includes "J-Phone Specific Class Library" (JSCL) API:

Have you tried this yourself yet Gary?

Yes I was aware that J-Phones use a special JVM called JBlend, but was under
the impression that their API was compliant with CLDC and MIDP. Any
thoughts as to why Aplix has not released an SDK??
