Howdy Keitai Club Comrades -

As a foreign journalist covering electronic entertainment, Samurai
Romanesque fascinated me. You mean in Japan they have an online
multiplayer role-playing game for mobile phones? In color? With little
samurai running around feudal Japan?

So I was glad to see Daniel Scuka's breakdown of it from the July 2001
issue of J@panInc:

A Weather-Affected, Massively Multiplayer, Java-Based i-Mode Game
http://www.japaninc.net/mag/comp/2001/07/jul01_filter_game.html

But I didn't get a sense of what it was like to actually play the first
graphical online multiplayer samurai fantasy mobile phone game. So
after I came to Japan I got a commission from Wireless Gaming Review to
examine the gameplay:

Samurai Romanesque: Being an iMode Mifune

My editor contributed the rating; I don't read enough Japanese fast
enough to qualitatively assess the game. But I know the Nintendo Game &
Watch gameplay model when I see it!

Thanks,
Justin
