Ntt DoCoMo announced the partnership with Wind Italy
to bring i-mode to the italian market.
This follows Spain, Holland, France and Germany.
Wind is the third operator and for the last two months
has been in the rumors for possible acquisition by
a larger group.
3 years ago TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) and Ntt DoCoMo
announced a similar agreement that looks like is finally
crashed:

TIM from that agreement has develop a completely
independent strategy and never integrated any i-mode
service in the product offer.
TIM is actually seen quiet behind Vodafone in developing
a strong offer in the new content services.
TIM 39,1 million users in 2002 is the largest operator in Italy
followed by Vodafone 19.4, Wind 8.7 and 3 (Not operational
in 2003).
